The AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy is an exciting new program designed to get dog owners and their puppies off to a good start. Training will consist of owner behaviors, puppy behaviors, and pre-canine good citizen test behaviors. Classes will include valuable training tips for puppy owners - such as how to housetrain - and lessons on practical skills for puppies -such as coming when called.
When you complete the class with your puppy your puppy is eligible to be enrolled in the AKC STAR Puppy Program. You must attend at least 6 out of the 8 classes. Your instructor will administer a test at the end of the course. Upon passing the test, you’ll get an application to send to AKC for enrollment. All dogs are welcome to participate in the program including purebreds and mixed breeds.
